Emacs is a family of text editor programs. I use GNU Emacs, the most popular incarnation of them. I heard that GNU Emacs is more than just a text editor, it's somehow a way of life.

I don't want to put a high target for learning GNU Emacs, I am just doing it for fun. What I'm currently doing is just reading the primary manual books (there are three of them), and use GNU Emacs for as much as I'm comfortable. Since my GNU Emacs setup already works fine, I will start to look only to the manuals for further customization and troubleshooting and avoid searching on the the Internet as much as I can.

As of July 2024 I began to use Emacs for editing maps, using geojson.
